SLOUGH Town made it four wins on the bounce in the Southern Premier Division after a 1-0 victory at Stratford Town on Saturday.

The Rebels had not won four consecutive league matches since October but this latest purple patch sees them closer to securing a position in the play-offs.

A goal from striker Perry Coles on 35 minutes, his fifth since joining the club back in February, was the difference between the two sides at Knights Lane.

The win means Slough remain in fifth position in the league table and 13 points above Royston Town in sixth place. The Rebels require just two more wins from their six remaining fixtures to secure a position in the play-offs.

Slough travel to Biggleswade Town on Tuesday (7.45pm) before returning to Arbour Park for the visit of promotion-chasing Kings Lynn Town this Saturday (3pm).

Paul Shone suffered a first defeat as manager at Burnham after a 6-0 loss against Thatcham Town in the Hellenic Premier Division on Saturday.

Goals from Gavin James and Liam Ferdinand plus a penalty from Ekow Elliot gave Thatcham a clear lead at the half-time interval at The Gore.

Ferdinand scored twice more after the break to complete his hat-trick, while a goal from Ross Cook helped secure all three points for the visitors.

The defeat means Burnham remain bottom of the division with just six matches remaining this season.

The Blues make the return trip to Thatcham on Tuesday (7.45pm) before a trip to Brimscombe & Thrupp this Saturday (3pm).

Chalvey Sports edged closer to top spot in Division Two East after an 8-0 win against Thame Rangers Development on Saturday.

Two goals from Ryan Hazell plus strikes from Liam Hulait and Jason Marney gave The Stabmonks a clear lead at the half-time interval at Arbour Park.

Hazell scored again after the break to complete his hat-trick, while two goals from Ayden Coomber and a Bryan Taylor strike helped secure all three points.

Chalvey remain in second position in the table and two points behind Abingdon United Development with a game in hand on the league leaders.

The Stabmonks are away at Chalfont Wasps Reserves on Tuesday (7.45pm), Chinnor Reserves on Thursday (7.45pm) and then the league leaders this Saturday (3pm).

Chalvey are out of the Hellenic League Chairman's Cup this season after a 2-1 defeat against Penn & Tylers Green Reserves last Thursday.

A goal from Coomber gave The Stabmonks the lead in the quarter-final tie at Arbour Park, but goals either side of the half-time interval secured the victory for the away side.
