SLOUGH Town joint-boss Jon Underwood has hailed this season as his best-ever as a football manager.
Underwood first got into management at Sandhurst Town in 2008, and took over in The Rebels dugout with Neil Baker in May 2013.
Slough have since been promoted via the play-offs twice, and reached the second round proper of the FA Cup this season - a memorable campaign for Underwood.
He told the Observer: “It’s the best-ever season for me as a manager no doubt.
“The FA Cup run in itself would have been good but we didn’t want to just settle for that.
“We took some criticism after a little dip in form, but to finally have our day and get promoted ahead of some good sides is some achievement.
“Slough and Steve Easterbrook have been good to us, and we would like to think with two promotions in five years we’ve delivered on that.
“Sometimes people doubt our credentials or decisions but we’re judged on results It looks like we and the club are a good fit.”
