A NIGHTMARE week awaits Slough Town as they face four games in just seven days but manager Steve Bateman sees it as an ideal opportunity to put points on the board.
It starts on Saturday as they host Atherstone Town and the Rebels travel to Barton Rovers on Tuesday, Bromsgrove Rovers on Thursday and go to Rothwell Town on Saturday week.
Fourth placed Slough lost last Saturday at Biggleswade Town and Sutton Coldfield Town have gained ground on the top five with two wins during the week to leave Bateman's men looking over their shoulders at Chesham United, Sutton Coldfield and Arlesey Town.
"We are still in a good position but it's allowed the likes of Sutton Coldfield Town right back in it," remarked Bateman. "They are on the charge but it's in our own hands.
"If we can have a good week this week, it's a great opportunity to put points on the board.
"We've got to look after ourselves and stop feeling sorry for ourselves.
"Atherstone is a game we really need to win now but that is the case for all of them.
"It's a very important week and we want maximum points from it, 12 points out of the next four games is what we are aiming for.
"There are three away games but apart from the result at Biggleswade our away record and performances have been good and we need to get back to winning ways."
However, Slough will be without central defenders Nathan Bowden-Haase and Graeme Edwards as well as doubts over Paul Edgworth (thigh/groin), Danny Murphy (foot), Simon Sweeney (flexor), Tommy Hayes (ankle) and Ricky Perks (back) but they are all expected to play some part in the hectic week.
"We will have to balance who is available and when," confirmed the boss.
"But it's not all doom and gloom, two 18-year-olds, Kyle Jeffrey and my son Sam (Bateman) came in and did really well on Tuesday night and we got 16-year-old Mo Sharif involved again."
