A TEENAGER has been banned from attending football games at a club after a match was abandoned.

Slough Town FC’s Southern Premier Division match at Banbury United was abandoned on Saturday after a plastic bottle was thrown onto the pitch in the direction of the referee - no one was injured in the incident.

Police were called at 4.11pm to Banbury United FC’s Spencer Stadium, where a 15-year-old boy from Banbury was interviewed by police.

The boy has undertaken a youth restorative disposal and has been banned from attending Banbury United FC.

The Rebels were leading 2-1 at half time when the incident occurred at the stadium in Station Approach.

A statement from Slough Town after the game read: “Following the abandonment of this game the club is advising those that travelled to the Spencer Stadium to retain their admission tickets.

“At this moment in time there has been no announcement from the Southern League as to whether the fixture will be replayed.

“The club wishes to thank those Slough supporters that travelled this afternoon and for their impeccable behaviour.”
