TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES - CARRIAGEWAY RESURFACING - VARIOUS ROADS
THE COUNCIL OF THE LONDON BOROUGH OF HARROW HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that they intend to make a Temporary Traffic Management order under the provisions of Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991. This is to allow carriageway resurfacing work to take place.
1. The order may be cited as The Harrow (Carriageway Resurfacing No.1) Temporary Traffic Order 2018, and would be operational on 8th May 2018 and would remain in effect until 30st July 2018 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the sooner. It is anticipated that all of the work should be complete by 31st May 2018.


Each road shall be closed for no longer than 10 working days; and most roads will be resurfaced within two to three days. Expected dates of closures for each road are listed below; however, these dates may be subject to change due to operational circumstances. Advanced temporary signage will be erected on-street; and information letters dropped through the letterboxes of affected frontages beforehand, confirming when roads will be closed.
2. Vehicles would be prohibited from entering or exiting the following lengths of roads as and when signs are in place;

(e) Old Redding; between its junction with Brookshill/Common Road and a point opposite Bridleway 28;


(f) College Hill Road, at its junction with Kenton Lane;

(I) Dudley Road, between its junctions with Roxeth Green Avenue and Wesley Close;
(m) Southfield Park, between its junctions with Pinner Road and Station Road/Parkside Way.

3. Vehicles would be prohibited from turning right into Shaftesbury Avenue from the northern arm of Welbeck Road.


4. Nothing in paragraph 2 & 3 above would apply to:-


(a) any vehicles being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency;


(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a civil enforcement officer;


(c) any person who causes any vehicle to proceed in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed pursuant to Section 66 or Section 67 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984;


(d) any vehicles used in connection with the carriageway resurfacing work;


(e) any vehicles needing to gain access to properties in the closed extents as far as is practicably possible.


5. The provisions of the order will not have effect unless all the signs in accordance with the provisions of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 are displayed, removed or covered, or unless at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a civil enforcement officer.

a) via The Ridgeway, Imperial Drive, Alexandra Avenue, Eastcote Lane and Roxeth Green Avenue and vice versa;


b) via Porlock Avenue;


d) via Lascelles Avenue, Treve Avenue, Whitmore Road, Drury Road and Butler Road and vice versa;


e) via Brookshill, Uxbridge Road, Harrow Weald and Oxhey Lane and vice versa;


f) via Elms Road and Uxbridge Road, Harrow Weald and vice versa;


g) via Vernon Drive, Beverley Gardens and Curzon Avenue and vice versa;


h) via College Hill Road, Kenton Lane, Locket Road and Byron Road and vice versa;


i) via High Road and College Avenue;


j) via Spencer Road, High Road, The Meadow Way and Church Lane and vice versa;


k) via Shaftesbury Avenue, The Ridgeway, Imperial Drive, Alexandra Avenue and Eastcote Lane and vice versa;
I) via Roxeth Green Avenue and Shaftesbury Avenue and vice versa;
