Drivers in Berkshire were found guilty of 10 different offences in November, from using their phone to drink driving and everything in between.

Using a mobile phone while driving

A 55-year-old man from Slough was fined £220 for using a mobile phone while driving a Mercedes Benz.

Saranjit Chhokar, 55, of Horton Road, Datchet, was found guilty on November 10 for committing the offence in Hayes Road on April 14 this year.

He was ordered to pay £100 in costs and a surcharge to fund victim services of £34, while also receiving six points on his license.

Drink driving

Five days earlier, November 5, a Slough woman was fined £277 and banned from the roads for 12 months after drink driving in the same brand of car.

Amy Edwards, 32, of Tobermory Close, drove in London Road, Saffron Walden, with 91 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of her blood on October 17, 2020.

The driving ban will cease 12 months after June 2, 2021.

Fail to stop at red light at pelican crossing

A woman from Bracknell was fined £220 for failing to stop at a red light at a pelican crossing in Arlington Square.

Dawn Clatworthy, 59, of North Green, Bracknell, failed to stop on June 26, 2021 and was sentenced on November 23.

She must pay costs of £90 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £34.

Exceeded motorway speed limit

On the same court date, Anthony Whiteway, 48, was fined £600 for exceeding the motorway speed limit.

He drove over 70mph on the M4 in Newbury on June 28.

Whiteway, of Jodie Court, Stevens Close, Beckenham, received six points on his license.

Failed to provide specimen for analysis

A 23-year-old man from Slough was disqualified from driving from 18 months for failing to provide a breath sample.

Norbert Kukla, 23, of Gatewick Close, was suspected of having driven a vehicle but failed to offer a sample when asked on February 28.

At Berkshire magistrates court on November 26, he was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work and to pay £300 in costs.

Failed to stop vehicle 

John Mckinnon, 23, of Bodin Gardens, Newbury, must pay £292 for failing to stop his Audi when required by an officer in Greenham Road, Queens Road, Hambridge Road, and London Road, Newbury on February 27.

He was fined £108 and ordered to pay costs of £150 and a surcharge of £34 to fund victims services on November 4.

Theft from a motor vehicle

A man from Reading stole more than £2,000-worth of tyres from a Lexus car dealership.

Biondino Alessandro Fappiano, 39, of Prince of Wales Avenue, stole four car tyres on on March 8.

The judge at Berkshire Magistrates Court ordered him to undertake up to 20 days of rehabilitation.

Driving without insurance

A man who drove without insurance in Britwell Road, Slough, was fined £660 on November 23.

Callum Bailey, 25, of Hag Hill Rise, Burnham, committed the office on May 18.

He received six points on his license and was ordered to pay costs of £90 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £66.

Caused or permitting vehicle to be used in excess of gross weight limit

A 29-year-old Maidenhead man must pay £357 after causing or permitting a heavy goods vehicle weighing 32 tonnes to be used on Thornford Road.

This contravened West Berkshire District Council laws on commercial vehicles.

Mitchell Constable, 29, from Orchard Close, was fined £143 for the offence, which occurred on March 9.

At Berkshire Magistrates Court on November 19, Mitchell was also ordered to pay costs of £180 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £34.

Fail to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle

Akhlaque Mohammad, 52, of Hampshire Avenue, Slough was fined £660 for failing to give information relating to the identification of a Mercedes driver between March 24 and April 21 in Banbury.

He was given six points on his license at Oxfordshire Magistrates' Court on November 11.
