Richard Lee and the Norden Farm Guitar Club perform on Tuesday 27 October at 8pm. Tickets £5 in advance, £6 on the door.

Richard Lee has been playing guitar for over twenty years. He has been singing since he could first speak and has an impressive vocal range. He is an independent recording artist and has performed at festivals alongside the likes of The Wurzels.

Richard teaches Norden Farm’s popular Acoustic Guitar lessons, from the Absolute Beginners through to the Intermediates. These weekly workshops are a great opportunity to learn new skills or develop existing ones in a supportive, social and relaxed atmosphere.

Richard’s students will be showcasing their skills live on stage, playing a mix of classic rock tracks and Americana style sounds. Richard will then also be taking to the stage to perform his own set, demonstrating his two decades of experience performing live on stage.

Students performing include James Betteridge from Burnham who admits he was a lapsed guitar player before joining the class.

He says: “Back in my college days I acquired the nickname ‘Jimi Betterix’. While I’m a big fan of Hendrix, I really cannot do his songs justice – maybe one day”. James enjoys playing rock and is influenced by Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters and Tom Petty.

Also playing is Alan Routledge from Flackwell Heath. He is also a lapsed guitarist – having first picked one up over 45 years ago. He enjoys playing folk, blues, mediaeval and is influenced by John Renbourn, Ralph McTell and

Wizz Jones. He also plays the ukulele and regularly plays guitar and ukulele in his Methodist Church.

This is a great chance to see an expert performer playing some classic guitar tracks. For those thinking about dusting off a guitar or investing in a new one, this is an opportunity to see what can be learnt in a term at Norden Farm’s Acoustic Guitar lessons.

Tickets are available from the Box Office on 01628 788997 or online at https://norden.farm/events/richard-lee-and-the-norden-farm-guitar-club
