A generous businessman has donated £21,000 to help with the ongoing development of a Sikh cultural centre.
Kind-hearted Bachittar Singh Hothi, from Upton Court Road, Slough, is a founding member of the Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Sheehy Way, Slough, since its inception in 1974.
The 76-year-old has donated money to the temple's committee to help with costs for the £3m Sikh social, sports and cultural centre which is currently being built in Stoke Poges Lane.
Mr Hothi was enthusiastic about the centre and its benefits to the community, and said: "The sports project has been close to my heart for a long time. This is going to be a development, for both young and old people.
"It will be a place where everyone can come together. I am glad it has finally become a reality." For the full story see today's Slough Observer.
