A FAMILY is rightfully making a racket after three talented children emerged victorious on Saturday last week in the Berkshire Squash County Championships.
The Kalar family from Cippenham were well represented at the championships held at The Windsor Club, in Helston Lane, with seven-year-old Dylan, Danni, 11, and Jasmin, 15, all competing.
Dylan finished as a runner-up in the under 11s category, Danni won the under 13s as well as the under 15s – making history as a double Berkshire champion – and Jasmin won the under 17s beating none other than Danni in the final.
Proud dad Sonny Kalar said: “They all want to be professional, but obviously that is a long way off yet so as long they are enjoying it. It makes me a very proud dad.
“I used to play a lot when I was younger and play on the masters series now – I might have passed on some talent maybe, but it is all about them, their talent and their hard work.”
Mr Kalar also runs his own squash coaching venture and wants to get more kids playing the sport. For more information, go to www.kalarcoaching.com
