A FREE bus service put on by a film studios as part of their expansion project has been well received by residents.

The Pinewood Studios Shuttle Bus launched last month as part of the studios' section 106 agreement with Bucks County Council when permission was granted for the studios in Pinewood Road, Iver Heath to expand last year.

As part of the agreement, the studios had to commit to provide the transport, which in July and August was used for 327 passenger journeys by local residents.

Beth Reid, who lives in Pinewood Road, said: β€œIt’s a fabulous free service. I took my son for a day trip into London last week and caught the shuttle to and from Uxbridge station. The bus was on time, comfortable, and ran at convenient times for us. It also saves money on car parking fees.”

The bus opened to local residents on July 4, with a new bus stop put in place outside Pinewood's Double Lodge. Buses run from Pinewood to Slough, Uxbridge and Gerrard's Cross.

The service is free to use to those who have applied for a local residents' shuttle pass, with 356 passes issued to 119 households.
