A HEADTEACHER was delighted as a primary school turned things round to be rated as good.
Ofsted inspectors visited Wexham Court Primary School in Church Lane in July, and found the school to be rated good having previously been graded as requires improvement.
Headteacher Navroop Mehat said: "It is amazing. We are delighted with it.
"Wexham Court is a lovely school and the pupils here are exemplary in their behaviour and have worked hard, as have the staff.
"To get this report is really nice and to celebrate the work we have done throughout the year.
"It is fantastic for the school. Hopefully it will show people what the school is about. The pupils are really proud and pleased about it and they spoke really confidently to the inspectors .
"The report says that they are enthusiastic and eager to learn. They ooze that and that is the nicest thing, that they are being recognised."
The school caters for 693 pupils and the report, published on Thursday last week, praises the leadership team at the school for the work it has done to "nurture an inexperienced teaching team".
The school has undergone considerable changes in staff members, with 10 out of 30 teachers new to the school in September 2015, and inspectors have recognised the work the school has done to support these teachers and instil high standards.
The report states: "The headteacher, together with her team, exemplifies the school’s values of resilience, communication, curiosity and creativity. Through communicating high expectations, showing resourcefulness, perseverance and diligence, they have steered the school successfully through a tricky period.
"Teaching is increasingly strong, pupils achieve well and high standards of behaviour have been upheld."
It also states that pupil behaviour is "exemplary" and they are "polite and welcoming", adding: "Pupils make good progress in their academic and wider development. They become thoughtful, caring young citizens, equipped with the skills needed to flourish at secondary school and in the world."
