A TERRIFIED woman was held at knifepoint after raiders burst into her Slough home late at night demanding jewellery.

The 34-year-old woman's nine-year-old daughter was at home in Granville Avenue at the time, though neither was injured.

According to police, the raiders fled with jewellery the woman was wearing at the time, as well as some other items.

The four offenders forced their way into the home at 10.50pm last Wednesday (November 16). They threatened the victim with a knife before demanding Asian gold jewellery.

The men, believed to be Eastern European, fled through the front door.

The first offender was about five feet tall, the second offender was about five feet four inches tall and the third raider was about six foot.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Sarah Noah of Force CID, said that police were urgently appealing for witnesses.

She said: “This was an extremely frightening ordeal for the victim, who was at home with her nine-year-old daughter at the time of the offence."

This aggravated burglary is the second similar incident of its kind in Slough in just over a month when men have stormed into a home demanding jewellery.

A woman in her late 80s and her son were threatened by masked men who burst into their home in Newbery Way - two miles away from Granville Avenue.

During the October 1 incident, the couple were attacked at around 9pm, but the raiders fled with just a small amount of cash and some clothes.

Thames Valley Police are appealing to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the vicinity of Granville Avenue last Wednesday evening to contact them by calling 101.
