LOCAL beers were celebrated at Datchet Beer Festival last week.
Crowds descended on Datchet Village Hall, Allen Way, for the two-day event, that ran from Friday of last week to Saturday across a number of afternoon and evening sessions.
Organiser David Smith, 50, from Ruscombe Gardens, Datchet, said: “It was very, very good. We had between 400 to 450 people there. Everyone had a good time.”
Some 21 real ales were on offer for attendees, in addition to six varieties of cider. Many of the drinks were local creations.
Mr Smith said: “We had a cider from Slough – Salt Hill Cider. You wouldn’t expect cider from Slough, but there you are. We also had a brew from Wraysbury, Purple Donkey. The brewer was giving away samples.”
Also showcasing its drinks at the event was the successful Windsor and Eton Brewery.
