JOHANNES Kloss was in sensational form as Slough took over top spot in Middx, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Regional One.

He scored all four goals as they defeated previous leaders PHC Chiswick 4-3 in a thriller at Upton Court Park on Saturday.

Kloss, who scored twice in each half, looked particularly sharp from penalty corners, with routines engineered in training sessions paying dividends.

His four goals took his tally for the season to 14, the third highest in the division behind Nick Giles, who bagged a brace for the defeated Chiswick side, and one less than Slough teammate Rai Singh.

The hosts led 2-1 at half-time and managed to keep their noses in front throughout an exciting second half, although they had to defend resolutely as Chiswick battled hard to avoid defeat.

The victory was extra sweet as Slough had been hammered 5-0 by the West London side in September, and it shows how much the team has improved over the last four months.

Securing their seventh victory in 11 games, the Slough head the table with 23 points, one point ahead of Marlow with a game in hand.

But, it does remain tight at the top, with sixth-in-the-table Maidenhead just four points behind Slough.
