Firefighters put out a blaze in a tumble dryer on Sunday afternoon at an address in Maryside,Langley.
They were called at 1pm and were able to bring things under control within three quarters of an hour, limiting damage to the kitchen.
Firefighters are warning people always to check appliances like tumble driers and to remove lint clinging to clothes before placing them in the machine.
