A ROBBER has been jailed for two years after he attacked a man and stole his phone.
Martin Booker, 37, of no fixed abode, was jailed for two years and six months after pleading guilty to robbery at Reading Crown Court on Monday.
In July last year, Booker approached his victim, a 54-year-old man, in Upton Park, and asked him for a lighter.
Booker then demanded money, and searched the victim before punching him and grabbing his phone. He then fled the area. The victim was not seriously hurt.
The investigating officer, Sgt Katy Lewis of Slough police station, said: "Booker carried out a robbery in which he assaulted his victim, and I am pleased that he has been convicted and will have time to reflect on his actions in prison.
"Offences like this will not be tolerated. We will always investigate them and look to secure convictions wherever possible."
