STUDENTS dressed up as their favourite characters for World Book Day.

Year One pupils at Langley Hall Primary Academy in St Mary’s Road, donned costumes of their favourite literary or film characters for the event, that was held all day on Thursday, March 1.

Beloved children’s characters like Darth Vader, Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk, and Wonder Woman were among some of the characters the students chose to adopt.

Parent Liaison Manager, Michelle Ramsey, said: “They had a bit of – not role-play, but a bit of play around their characters.”

The event reached the whole lower school, but due to scheduling conflicts with school concerts it was held on different days for the other years.

Ms Ramsey said: “They were all given World Book Day vouchers worth a pound to buy a book with, or to take a pound off a book of their choice.

“They loved the event – they always love dressing up.”
