RESIDENTS interested in learning more about the future of healthcare in the area are invited to the local CCG's next meeting.

The NHS East Berkshire Clinical Commissioning Group is holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, September 5, in the Royal Suite, Windsor Racecourse, Maidenhead Road.

Stalls demonstrating the work of the CCG and its partners will open from 1pm, with the meeting itself taking place from 2pm to 4pm. The theme for this year's event is 'Prevention and Well-Being.'

This is the first AGM of the newly-founded CCG – earlier this year, the Slough CCG, the Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead CCG, and the Bracknell and Ascot CCG merged together to become the East Berkshire CCG in April this year. The clinical chairman, Dr William Tong, will look back over the achievements of the three former CCG's before Clinical Chief Officer, Dr Andy Brooks, discusses the plans for the future. There will also be a Q and A sessions with residents at the end of the meeting.

Dr Tong said: “We have a lot to be proud of in East Berkshire, especially as all three localities within our CCG have been rated ‘Outstanding’ for another year by NHS England. The event is an opportunity for us to showcase some of our work which is helping to make a difference to the lives of many patients.

“I appreciate the timing of the meeting may not suit all due to work and other commitments. However, people can watch the meeting via our Facebook page later on as it will be recorded. People can also tweet us questions on the day itself.”

There is no need to confirm attendance, but residents who would like to ask a specific question at the AGM are asked to email it in advance to communications.eastberksccgs@nhs.net.
