A MAN has been charged with multiple offences, including attempted rape and attempted kidnap.
Martin Maughan, 30, of no fixed abode, has been charged with one count of sexual assault by penetration, one count of attempted rape, one count of trespassing on a premises with intent to commit a sexual offence, one count of attempted kidnap, one count of theft and one count of attempted theft. He has also been charged with several driving offences.
The charges are in connection with a series of incidents that occurred in Stoke Poges and Slough between August 24 and August 29, in which an 83-year-old woman was sexually assaulted, and an attempt was made to kidnap a 15-year-old girl.
Maughan appeared at Slough Magistrates Court today (Thursday), and will appear at Reading Crown Court on October 1.
