An 104 year old veteran is all set to light a beacon in Church Road, Iver on November 11 to celebrate the end of the First World War.
George Sibley MBE will do the honours after Pinewood Studios gave permission to the Iver Heath and Iver branch of the Royal British Legion to use its field next to their club for the commemoration.
Iver Parish Council has donated the commemorative beacon.
It will be a big day - with bells being rung at St Margaret's and St Peter's churches and a piper and a bugler attending as well, while the Iver Singers will perform wartime songs and the scouts will provide a barbecue.
It will all be part of a national event that will see beacons lit at 7 pm across the country.
The Parish Council and the British Legion have acquired a number of 'silhouetted soldiers' to be displayed around the parish, on the wall of the club and the remembrance tree in Langley Park.
It is hoped as many members of the public as possible will attend the lighting of the beacon itself.
