THOUSANDS gathered at Windsor Castle to welcome 3,200 bike riders to the finish line of this year's Palace to Palace event.

The event saw the riders join Magic FM DJs Lemar Obika and Harriet Scott crossing the finish line after cycling all the way from Buckingham Palace, having raised £430,000.

Their ride, which took place on Sunday, October 7 supported by Delta Air Lines, has taken in some of London's most iconic sites including Richmond Park and Hampton Court Palace - offering them the choice of a 45 mile or 90 mile route.

Palace to Palace has raised more than £4million over the years for the Prince's Trust, which helps young people into work, training and education.

Corneel Koster, Delta Air Lines' senior vice president Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, said: "In our first year as the headline sponsor of Palace to Palace our 70 strong team from across the world was proud to get on their bikes. It was a fantastic day and we're thrilled to realise that more than £4.1 million has been donated to such an important cause over the past 13 years."

Prince's Trust ambassador Melissa Hemsley - co-author with her sister of the best selling books The Art of Eating Well and Good + Simple - said: "Thousands of cyclists have put in hard work training and raising vital funds for the Prince's Trust. I want to say congratulations to all the fundraisers and cyclists, as their efforts will make a crucial difference to the lives of young people around the country."
