LEFT over paint donated by Dulux has been used by pupils at Slough and Eton School to create a beautiful new mural.
The paint was donated by the company to celebrate 25 years of sponsoring Community RePaint, a paint reuse charity created to reduce waste.
Staff at Slough's Dulux headquarters in Petersfield Avenue collected 1,245 litres of paint that had been left unused.
To create the new mural, creative director Marianne Shillingford held a workshop with the students to design the feature and the decorating experts at Dulux went along to the school in Ragstone Road to help them paint it.
Paul Murgett, sustainability marketing manager at Dulux says: “We did some research and found that half of us in the UK are hoarding between four to twenty tins of unused paints from previous DIY jobs. Rather than let them gather dust, we created a campaign designed to help us all pass it on to those who need it.
“So far, we’ve seen schemes up and down the country benefit and we’re really proud to have been able to support our local community here in Slough too.
“Our expert decorating team have been working with the Slough & Eton School to help them create and paint a playground mural and the results are amazing. The area has definitely been transformed through colour and the students and teachers love it.”
