Maidenhead cadet Samuel Crowhurst, 17, was installed as the St John Ambulance cadet to the High Sheriff of Berkshire Graham Barker, at a silver lanyard presentation ceremony at the charity’s York Road headquarters.
Mr Barker said: “This installation recognises the first-class qualities of Sam as a cadet and also recognises the excellent voluntary work that St John Ambulance carries out in the community.”
During the ceremony a commemorative plaque was presented to cadet unit manager Louie Blackman who said: “I hope it will encourage more young people to become St John Ambulance cadets and be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.”
