A triathlon event with a difference is set to be launched in Windsor.

Branded as the first festival of its kind in the UK, the Jaguar Tri-Fest combines a triathlon with up and coming musical talent and a high-end glamping experience.

Set to take place at the iconic Dorney Lake, organisers say the event, next July, is expected to attract thousands of people.

Jaguar Tri-Fest will feature several races taking place over the course of the weekend, including individual, team and children’s races.

For those who don’t want to compete, there will be activities taking place inside the event village.

Alongside the Olympic, sprint and super sprint triathlon distances, the event village will include a live music stage, a champagne garden, children’s activities and glamping facilities.

Jaguar will also be offering revellers a range of dynamic driving experiences in some of its latest models.

The concept of the festival was developed between partners Chad James and David Paton, together with Race director John Lunt, who saw a gap in the market for a more active weekend festival.

Race director John Lunt, competition manager for the triathlon at the London Olympic Games, believes the “unique mix” of the UK staples of sport, food and music will “create a truly special event that stands out over summer”.

Speaking about the festival, Mr Paton said: “We’re very excited to announce Tri-Fest with our headline sponsor Jaguar.

“I think there’s a wonderful opportunity to offer fitness enthusiasts and triathletes a new sort of race experience.

“I also think there’s a big opportunity to encourage people who aren’t usually active to sample something different and challenge themselves with friends and family, without the competition, while having fun.

“Tri-Fest is about celebrating Triathlons but also about creating a festival experience around it, with music, food and drinks, and lots of events in-between.

“We want racers to bring their friends and family and to celebrate the weekend. We’ve secured a wonderful location and we’re busy behind the scenes working with lots of different partners to offer attendees something truly memorable.”
