SLOUGH Women commence their indoor league programme this weekend, with four games all being played at the Phoenix Sport & Leisure Centre in Telford.

The Pink 'n' Blacks face Beeston and Canterbury on Saturday, followed by East Grinstead and Clifton on Sunday.

The remaining four games take place on January 5-6 when Slough will be up against Leicester, title-holders Bowdon Hightown, Holcombe and Buckingham.

The top four teams qualify for Super 6s finals day at the Copper Box Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on January 27.

National champions in 2017, Slough will be looking to improve on their performance last year when they could only finish fifth in the Premier Division standings.

Their squad is Mila Welch (GK), Amber Lewsey (GK), Immie Brown, Harriet Ward, Lizzie Totten, Katie Jurdon, Laura Puddle, Kitty Baccanello, Kat McGonigle (capt), Mel Ball, Emma O'Nien, Dilly Newton, Camila Diaz, Sarah Parkinson-Mills.

Slough Men's hopes of ending the year off the bottom of the MBBO Premier Division Two table disappeared when they lost 4-3 at home to Woking, the side immediately above them, who were recording their first win of the campaign.

They were unable to deal with the visitors' attacks which saw Andy Pike help himself to a hat-trick.

Trailing 3-1 at half-time, the hosts got themselves back in the game with a second goal shortly after the resumption, but Pike regained his side's two-goal advantage on 45 minutes with Slough scoring their third five minutes from time.

Their 11th consecutive defeat leaves the Upton Court Park men without any points – four fewer than Woking – and a mountain to climb if they are to avoid relegation after just one season in the Premier.

Slough now take a mid-season break, with their next fixture being on January 12 when they host sixth-placed London Academicals.
