The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:

November 26

Petar Gril, 28, of Mannock Way, Woodley, admitted to possessing a controlled drug of Class B, namely cannabis/cannabis resin. He received a conditional discharge for 18 months and the court made on order for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £20.

Adrian George Buckeridge, 29, of Cranbury Road, Reading, admitted to two counts of possessing a controlled drug of Class A, namely cocaine and heroin, and a further count of possessing a controlled drug of Class B, namely cannabis/cannabis resin. He received a conditional discharge for 12 months and the court made an order for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs. He was also ordered to pay costs of £80.

Mohammed Hasnath, 37, of Royal Avenue, Calcot, admitted to using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third-party insurance or a valid test certificate and speeding in Wokingham. He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months and was fined £100. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £30.

Elliott Bedward, 22, of Larkspur Gardens, Thatcham, failed without reasonable excuse to comply with the requirements of a community order made by Reading Crown Court by failing to attend unpaid work. The order was varied by the court and an additional 30 hours have been added to his requirement, which means he will have to carry out 215 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. He was also ordered to pay costs of £75.

November 27

Anthony John Michael Woolford, 38, of George Street, Reading, admitted to assault by beating and was committed to prison for 16 weeks, suspended for 24 months. The offence was deemed to be particularly serious to due the use of weapons and the fact that it was in a public place. He must take part in an Alcohol Treatment Requirement for six months, a Programme Requirement for 30 days and a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for a maximum of 20 days. He was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and the court issued a restraining order. He was made to pay compensation of £200, costs of £85 and a surcharge of £115.

Regimantas Kriksciunas, 32, of Green Lane, Burghfield Common, denied sexual assault of a female and was found guilty after a summary trial. A community order was made and he must take part in a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for a maximum of 20 days. He was also ordered to carry out 210 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. He was told to pay compensation of £300, costs of £950 and a surcharge of £85. He will be required to register with police in accordance with the Sexual Offences Act 2003 for five years.

November 28

Damian Koncewicz, 24, of Salisbury Road, Reading, admitted to drink-driving and using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third-party insurance. He was fined £200 and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 23 months. A community order was made and he will be required to take part in a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for a maximum of five days. He will also be required to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months.

November 29

Darren Neal Thomas Brown, 39, of Newtown Road, Newbury, admitted to theft from a shop, namely stealing four bottles of Jack Daniels and sausages to the value of £81.60 belonging to Sainsbury’s. He also admitted to failing without reasonable cause to surrender to custody at Reading Magistrates’ Court, having been released on bail during criminal proceedings. He was committed to prison for a total of six weeks and ordered to pay a surcharge of £115.
