A man has been sentenced to eight months in jail after being convicted for religiously aggravated harassment in Slough.
Amour Amodu, 33, of no fixed address, was unanimously found guilty at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday, December 11 following a four-day trial.
On July 20 at 4:30pm Amodu racially abused members of the public in McKenzie Square in High Street, targeting both men and women.
Along with the sentence of eight months, Amodu also received a ten-year criminal behaviour order which prohibits him from entering Slough town centre during that period.
PC Toby Iredale, investigating officer based at Slough police station, said: "This is unacceptable behaviour which will not be tolerated by Thames Valley Police.
“A ten-year ban on Amodu entering Slough town centre will hopefully give some reassurance to the community that crimes such as these will be treated seriously, offenders will be prosecuted and they will be taken to court.”
