THE Meet & Mingle ladies' Christmas Lunch at Memories Of India in Farnham Common on Tuesday attracted more than 84 members of the popular group - while the newly set up men's branch attracted 24 to the same venue four days earlier.

A magician entertained the ladies during the afternoon while Medhi artists painted their hands with henna.

The group was set up by Aksa Marshal to give isolated ladies a chance to meet others and to make friends. It has been a great success winning the Queens Awards for Voluntary Services and Group of the Year in 1918, despite Mrs Marshal's courageous battle with cancer.

Meet & Mingle Men’s group has started just four weeks ago and is taking off very successfully.

Both the men's and women's branches of the group are now on Christmas break until January 14.
