NEIGHBOURS in Luff Close, Windsor are celebrating an amazing start to 2019 after theirs was the lucky postcode announced as the winner of the Postcode Lottery’s Street Prize, landing them a share of £270,000.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Jeff Brazier was knocking on doors and ringing bells in Luff Close after the draw was announced yesterday, with a camera crew ready to capture winners’ reactions.

Seven residents scooped £30,000 each, while the eighth landed a whopping £60,000 thanks to playing with two tickets.

Charity worker Fiona Perry, 59, said: “This win couldn’t have come at a better time for me. I’m in between jobs at the moment, so it’s a great comfort.

“My son is moving to Australia in January, so I will use the money to go visit him and take a long holiday out there.”

Fiona Smith, 80, who’s lived at the postcode nearly 40 years said: “I feel on top of the world, I’ve never held this much money before.

“I started playing People’s Postcode Lottery because I think it’s a really great way to donate to charities, but never thought I’d win. I think I’ll treat myself and my husband to a cruise.

Self-employed blind fitter Stuart Sayward, 48, said: “My van broke down yesterday and I’m self-employed, so this money means a great deal and couldn’t have come at a better time.”

Retired Carol Danzey, 73, will be sharing her £30,000 with her family, including her daughter Adele Bellman, who was with her when she found out about her People’s Postcode Lottery win.

Carol said: “This money is going to change my family’s life. I have a great-granddaughter on the way, so I’m looking forward to treating her.

“I started playing about six years ago because of the great causes it gives to."

Fellow winncr Bruce Henderson, 78, was joined by his wife Cecile Cielo-Henderson when he was presented with his £30,000 cheque.

He said: “This win is just unbelievable, I only started playing a month ago because I liked the idea of giving to charities and to win this much already is simply amazing.

“The great thing about People’s Postcode Lottery is that we’ve won as a neighbourhood. We get on really well so it’s amazing we can all celebrate together."
