Roadworks expected to last 16 weeks will commence on Monday 21 January in Cippenham.

The works will take place at the junction of the A4 with Elmshott Lane and Station Road in the western part of Slough borough.

The works will provide:

• A light-controlled toucan crossing suitable for pedestrians and cyclists

• A new traffic light system that is able to sense congestion and adjust the phasing accordingly

• Widening of the northside A4 pavement allowing more room on the shared pedestrians and cycle way.

Slough Borough Council have announced that the works will include temporary lane closures. Most of the work has been scheduled away from busy rush hour periods, but disruption and congestion is likely during the period.
