KIND hearted shoppers showed just how charitable they are at the Windsor Yards shopping centre in 2018, after more than £27,000 was raised for two different charities over the course of the year.

Battersea Dogs Home which has a site in Old Windsor and The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal raised £27,368 between them when they collected in the centre in Peascod Street.

Windsor Yards Centre Manager, Robert Gramson, said: “As a key part of the Windsor community, we believe in supporting good causes and organisations whenever possible.

“I’m thrilled that with our great relationships with the Royal British Legion and Battersea Dogs Home, we’ve been able to help them with valuable engagement and fundraising opportunities in 2018. Throughout this year we’ll be working with even more groups, charities and organisations across our community to provide them with a platform to engage with our brilliant shoppers."

Lorraine Rudge, senior community fundraising manager at Battersea Dogs Home said: “Battersea Dogs Home is a charity that helps more than 7,000 animals every year across the region and has a long-standing relationship with Windsor Yards. We can’t thank Windsor Yards enough for their support of Battersea.

“In 2018 they not only helped to secure over £6,000 in donations to support animals in our care – they also gave us the opportunity to raise awareness of our Battersea Old Windsor centre and the work we do helping local vulnerable dogs and cats."
