A MAN who devoted 30 years to Colnbrook's village hall has been posthumously thanked with a special award.
Keith Ayres, who was a builder in the village, died last year aged 79.
He has been involved with the hall since it was built and contributed professionally to much of its interior.
Following a meeting of the Colnbrook Village Hall Trust on Monday the trustees made a presentation to Mr Ayres' wife Kathleen - a plaque with the inscription Keith Ayres 1939 to 2018. He was also posthumously made vice-president of the trust.
The Trophy was presented by fellow long serving trustee Bill Jeeves.
Colnbrook Village Hall was built in 1990 after a combined effort that drew the whole village together.
Since then it has flourished and plays host to a wide range of community activities - as well as plays and shows staged by the village's drama group Colnbrook Amateur Stage Theatre including the annual pantomime.
It has recently undergone a major refurbishment.
