A REPORT from the Department of Education has highlighted the overwhelming success of pupils at Pangbourne College.

According to the report, the college is in the top five per cent of schools nationwide for its 'Progress Score' at A-Level.

This score is designed to demonstrate the academic development of each student, compared with other students nationally with similar attainment at Key Stage 4.

Thomas Garnier, headmaster, said: "I am delighted to see that the significant progress our students made during their Sixth Form years is evident from such a high placing in

the Government's performance tables and I feel proud of them and my staff.

"It shows what is possible when students are prepared to work hard and are supported by skilled teachers who believe in and care for them.”

“Pangbourne is a nurturing school and we aim to get the best out of each of our young people, whatever their potential. These statistics show that we are doing so successfully.”

The rating received by Pangbourne College for this category was ‘well above average’ – the highest possible band – and was the highest score in Berkshire.
