A new community sports centre based at Dedworth Middle School will be open for use by September.

The three court sports hall with changing rooms, floodlit netball and tennis courts will be based at the school in Smiths Lane but will have a dual use - also supporting community activities while acting as a home for new or existing sports clubs in the area.

It will be able to host a wide range of activities including netball, badminton, martial arts and more.

Councillor Samantha Rayner, the Royal Borough's cabinet member for culture and communities said: “The new sports facilities are fantastic and will be a great place for so many people to enjoy their sport.

“Following the success of our previous investment in a 3G All Weather Pitch, this sports hall continues to make Dedworth Middle a school with fantastic sports facilities as well as access for residents outside school hours, making the most of this wonderful resource.”

Local clubs or sports providers are already being invited to get in touch if they would like to block book and any activity providers are encouraged to make contact to discuss other activities they would like to provide at the site

Email sports.development@rbwm.gov.uk for all information.

The centre will be open to the community Mondays and Fridays 5pm to 9pm, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 6pm to 9pm, Saturdays and Sundays 9am to 6pm or in school holidays.
