Pictures and stories of 100 inspirational women and girls from Slough have formed part of a special exhibition at The Curve throughout March.
The Women Leading Women project marks 100 years since the Representation of the Peoples Act first gave women over 30 the right to vote. It also marks 90 years since women gained electoral equality. The exhibition was designed to commemorate the successes of suffragettes and to celebrate the achievements of everyday heroes in our families, communities and workpla
Alaa Fawaz is a member of the previous Slough Youth Parliament and helped organise events for International Women's Day, as part of the month-long celebration of women in Slough. Speaking about the exhibition, Alaa said: "We had so many different stories, it was inspirational. You wouldn't imagine the stories came from ordinary people you pass on the street."
The 100 women exhibition showcased just some of the women and stories in Slough - there were many more the organisers would have liked to include. The event was a collaboration between Slough Borough Council, Creative Junction and Slough Youth Parliament, which is supported by the council's young people's service.
