An investigation has been launched after a man was found dead at a property in Iver following a fire in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene of a fire at a multi-occupancy home in Denham Road at around 1.30am today (Wednesday).

A search and evacuation was carried out by Bucks Fire and Rescue crews, who discovered the man within the property.

South Central Ambulance Service, which was also at the scene, confirmed that the man, in his 50s, had sadly died.

Police said his next of kin have been informed and they are being offered support by officers.

All other residents and staff were safely evacuated from the property and no-one else was injured, police added.

The residents have been safely moved to another location and a scene watch is expected to be in place while officers investigate.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Carl Wilson said: “Sadly a man has died following this incident.

“We are working with Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service to establish the circumstances of this incident.

“At this early stage we are treating the death as unexplained and our investigation is continuing.

“No arrests have been made, and further information will follow.”
