NHS commissoners in East Berkshire have produced a small pocket sized card reminding residents that they can pre-book a blood test during evenings and weekends in Slough.

The appointments are bookable as part of the ‘extended access to GP services’ in Slough which allows people who find it difficult to take time off work or have other commitments during daytime hours to access general practice at a time more suitable to them.

People must be registered with a GP surgery in Slough in order to use the service which must be booked in advance via their own practice. The service cannot accept walk-in patients.

It is provided by the Bharani Medical centre in Slough from its practice in Lansdowne Avenue. Blood tests and other evening and weekend appointments with local GPs, nurses and other healthcare professionals take place outside of normal general practices' working hours at this site.

The service runs between 6.30pm to 8pm Monday to Friday and between 9am to 2pm at weekends.

If urgent care is required, people are advised to call NHS111 for advice.
