An 'in tents' comedy about a bizarre family camping trip is giving a budding 15-year-old thespian the chance to follow in his grandmother's footsteps.

Happy Campers is being staged by Wraysbury Players in the Village Hall on the Green next month.

It is being directed by Carol Howard, who has been a member of the Players for more than 40 years as well as spending some time as their chairman.

She has appeared in a number of comedies and dramas. But when it comes to directing she prefers she likes comedies the best.

The thespian gene has clearly been passed down as her grandson Isaac Howard-Real, who began appearing in tiny parts as child before graduating to the role of King Rat in the last Christmas panto.

Now aged 15 he has stepped in at short notice to play teenager Michael in the new show.

Happy Campers follows the Muir family as they take a trip to the Yorkshire Dales at the request their late brother and father Frank, in order to scatter his ashes.

What secrets will unfold as the family recount memories and experiences of life with Frank? Will the adventure build bridges in relationships, or will existing in tents rip the family asunder?

The play runs at the Village Hall from Thursday, May 16 to Saturday, May 18 - doors open 7.30pm with curtain up at 8pm.

Tickets are £10 and are available from the box office on 0800 772 3614, online at www.wraysburyplayers.co.uk or in person from Sai News or Pennyfields in Wraysbury High Street.
