Lisa's polka design will be turned into a giant mosaic

Lisa Todd, 57, enjoyed a 20-year international career in interior design, before the accident resulted in a condition known as Dystonia and forced a change of direction. She rediscovered her love of painting and in 2015 and started producing printed homeware and stationery.

She creates an original painting for each design before it is printed onto a range of products from trays to scarves.

A unique mosaic workshop on the opening day of London Craft Week tomorrow (Wednesday) will see a large-scale mosaic created from a polka design of Lisa's.

She said: “My collections are inspired by the wealth of bold colours and patterns I was enveloped in during my childhood in South Africa. I adored them as a child, and have always been inspired to use them in my designs”

She has lived in Windsor for 30 years. She shares her home with her husband Jeremy and her daughter Liv who is currently at City and Guilds London Art School studying fine art.

Lisa said: “After all these years living and working in Windsor, I can’t imagine ever living anywhere else. I feel very fortunate to be able to do something I enjoy so much, in a part of the country that is so very special.”

She has a busy year ahead.

She is creative director of the Lion Sculpture Trail - which will see 60 individually decorated, super-sized lion sculptures displayed across Windsor and Maidenhead from August to October to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria.

Lisa has been liaising with artists and designers from all over the world, who will transforming the life size lion sculptures in to eye catching works of art, which will be auctioned for local charities in the autumn.

The high-profile designers already involved with the event include iconic fashion designer Dame Zandra Rhodes and Martin Brown, award winning illustrator for the Horrible History books.
