Two more people have been arrested after a 19-year-old High Wycombe man died following a crash with a car on the A355 in Beaconsfield. 

At around 10.50pm on Sunday (May 5) a white Vauxhall Corsa and a silver Piaggio scooter crashed into each other on the busy road between the roundabout for the A40 and the junction of the Maxwell Road.

Although paramedics tried desperately to save the 19-year-old scooter rider, he later died in hospital. 

Police told yesterday how a 19-year-old woman and 17-year-old boy, both from High Wycombe, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

They have both been released under investigation.

Now, a further two people have been arrested in connection with the crash.

A 17-year-old boy from Farnham Common and a 16-year-old boy from High Wycombe have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Investigating officer, Sergeant James Atkinson, of the Joint Operation Roads Police Unit based at Taplow, said: “We continue to carry out extensive enquiries in relation to this incident in which a 19-year-old man has died.

“We are supporting the man’s family and keeping them updated as our investigation progresses.

“We are aware of the impact that this incident has had on the wider community and we would advise anyone with concerns to please speak to one of our officers.

“A further two people have been arrested in connection with this incident and our enquires are ongoing.”

He also urged anyone with information or CCTV footage of the crash to come forward. 

He added: “I would like to appeal to witnesses to the collision to come forward, and particularly to anyone who was driving at the time of the collision on the A355 Amersham Road and might have dash-cam footage of the incident.

“Also I would ask anyone who lives on the A355 between the roundabout of the A40 through to the Maxwell Road junction, and has residential CCTV to also review their CCTV from last night and please get in touch if they have footage of the collision.

“I would also like to appeal to any other eye witnesses to the collision to come forward.”
