A multi-marathon runner will soon embark on a herculean run to raise money for the Chiltern Society.
Tim Miles plans to run the entire length of the 134-mile Chiltern Way over the course of three days across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire in aid of the conservation charity.
Having recently completed the 100km Ultra Jurassic Marathon challenge across Dartmoor to raise money for the air ambulance service, the father of two will now run the 215km route starting from Marlow Common on May 31.
Tim said: “The main National Trails get a lot of publicity but some of the local trails are under appreciated. The Chiltern Way was specifically designed to take in the most beautiful spots in the Chilterns and, unlike the National Trails, is a circular route.
“Running on the pathway the Society designed, which runs through many of its most beautiful nature reserves, will also publicise the hard work their volunteers do to help the public enjoy the countryside.”
With friends stationed along the route providing refreshments and support during the run, Tim hopes that his run will raise £10,000 for the Society. If you would like to sponsor Tim, you can do so by visiting www.chilternsociety.org.uk/chilternwaychallenge.
