One of the countries most well-loved cookery writers and revered television personalities will be joining the line-up at one local food festival later this year.

Mary Berry, perhaps best known for her work as a judge on The Great British Bake Off, will appear at the Thame Food Festival later in the year.

Currently filming the second series of Britain’s Best Home Cook, Mrs Berry will be taking time out of her filming schedule for an interview and a book signing at the festival on September 28 at the Thame Showground.

Appearing alongside the national treasure will be previous Bake Off and MasterChef winners and contestants, with demonstrations also planned from Jane Devonshire, Steven Carter Bailey and Chetna Makan.

The Festival has been a favourite day in the calendar for baking enthusiasts and has been running since 2008. This year, organisers are hoping to have over 180 artisan producers alongside live demonstrations from leading chefs and bakers.

Patron and Organiser of Thame Food Festival Lotte Duncan said: “Well have we got a fabulous line-up of leading chefs and bakers this year! We are absolutely delighted that Mary Berry is joining us to celebrate all that is great and fabulous about food and cooking.

“We have got over 20 different demonstrations currently planned over the two days of the festival with a mix of chefs and bakers. They will be cooking live, sharing their knowledge and revealing their insights into the cooking and baking world, plus you never know, you just might get to taste something they’ve produced.”
