Bucks Free Press readers have been telling us their favourite pubs across the County, after The Squirrel pub reached the top of the TripAdvisor ratings for pubs earlier in the week.

Below are some of the Bucks Free Press favourite pubs.

1) The Squirrel, High Wycombe – The pub which reached the top of the rankings earlier in the week, The Squirrel was a particular favourite of those who sent in their picks. One reader said that the pub: “5 real ales changed regularly, draft and botted craft beers, great food, live music on a Friday, Quiz night once a month, children and dog friendly, large read garden ideal for children, decking area, front garden is a bit more adult friendly and you can watch the cricket while enjoying one of the beers, wine, spirits and/or food.”

2) The Nags Head, Great Missenden – This historic pub based in the quaint village of Great Missenden is another reader favourite. A Bucks Free Press reader said: “In the Summer the garden is superb. There is a good vibe to the place, with Quentin Blake prints of the Roald Dahl classics on display, neatly tying it to local literary history. We are spoiled for choice in The Chilterns when it comes to great pubs - but this 15th Century Inn is a real treasure for the area and deserves to be recognised.”

3) The Three Horseshoes, Seer Green - Another historic pub based in the peaceful village of Seer Green, The Three Horseshoes has been one of the most highly commended pubs by our readers. The pub hosts a selection of draught beers and ales seem to be a particularly impressive feature of the bar, alongside very reasonably priced spirits, wines and soft drinks. Impressively, the pub also has different evenings, including a free pool night, a Mexican night, a quiz night and a traditional meat raffle courtesy of the local butcher.

4) Royal Standard, Wooburn Common – the Royal Standard is a traditional bar which is often praised for it’s warm and welcoming atmosphere. Readers praised the pubs extensive menu and drinks selection, as well as it’s impressive terrace which is a real summer favourite amongst locals.
