Police descended on an address in Main Road - but it was revealed that the man was given an air rifle for pest control and no offences had been committed.
At least four police cars were seen outside a property on the road, leaving at around 10.30am.
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "Due to the nature of the report, we responded accordingly, but it was quickly ascertained that it was an innocent exchange of an air weapon and after words of advice, the incident was closed."
