Slough's world famous Mars company has been ranked as one of the greatest places to work in the UK.

It has been ranked fifth in the Large Company category in this year's Great Place to Work UK’s annual rankings.

Great Place to Work UK is a consultancy specialising in workplace culture, helping organisations to create high performing atmospheres in which employees feel trusted and valued.

It is the fourth year Mars Wrigley Confectionery, which has its headquarters in Dundee Road, Slough, has been included in the list - moving up three places from eighth to fifth.

One of the largest, private family-owned businesses in the world, Mars has been based in Slough for over 85 years and employs over 1,200 people there producing Mars, Maltesers, Snickers and Galaxy.

The Great Place to Work Institute praises Mars for giving staff 'freedom and support to shape their careers and thrive in a collaborative and inclusive culture'.

David Manzini, general manager at Mars Wrigley said: “We’re thrilled to once again be recognised as one of the greatest places to work in the UK. Everyone is trusted with real responsibility and given the freedom to innovate - whatever their level - and can feel they have a real stake in the success of the business. I believe that’s why so many people choose to stay here for many years and to build their career at Mars across different roles and countries.”

As well as its headquarters in Slough, Mars Wrigley Confectionery is based across 11 sites in the UK including Plymouth, Melton Mowbray, Kings Lynn and Waltham.
