People across the Royal Borough echoed the rest of the country when they voted in Thursday's European elections - going for the Brexit party, with the Lib Dems coming second.
But in Slough the national swing against both the major parties failed to tale hold, enabling Labour to win comfortably.
The Brexit party attracted the most votes in the Royal Borough - polling 13,289 which was 520 more than the Liberal Democrats who came second with 12,769.
This reflected closely the national mood, which saw the Labour and Conservative parties punished for failing to get Brexit through as Leavers went for Brexit candidates and Remainers went for the Lib Dems.
Turn out was 39.6 per cent.
In Slough the Brexit party scored 5,984 votes - coming second in the election, while the Lib Dems came third with 3,412. But the people of Slough retained their traditional loyalty to the Labour party which garnered 8,917 votes. Turn out was low though, at 27.2 pert cent
In the Royal Borough voting reflected the results of the local election earlier in the month which saw the Conservatives' majority on the council slashed and leading party members lose their seats.
They only attracted 5,496 votes putting them a poor third behind the Brexit and Lib Dem parties.
The Green party made a strong showing in both boroughs - polling 4,554 votes in the Royal Borough and 1,539 in Slough.
