The seaside came to Windsor on Saturday - as a beach fashion show coincided neatly with the hottest day of the year so far.
The catwalk event at the Windsor Yards shopping centre saw retailer collections from the likes of Topshop, New Look, FatFace, Timberland and Swarovski showcasing their summer offerings as hundreds of shoppers stopped to look
The Busy Buttons Creative Studio - which is based in the centre - added a touch of its own to the event with a step back in time to Victorian-inspired beachwear imaginatively designed and crafted by its own design team, assisted by 12 of its young students aged nine to 13 years.
Robert Gramson, centre manager at Windsor Yards, said: “We have been so impressed with the children involved in Busy Buttons’ Steampunk project. With only a few short weeks to pull an entire collection, they have all shown fantastic enthusiasm, dedication and boundless creativity - we encourage them to continue developing their skills.
“It was brilliant to see lots of visitors enjoying the show and cheering on the Busy Buttons teenagers, we hope everyone left with bags of inspiration for their holidays whether at home or abroad.”
Louella Fernandez-Lempiäinen and Lautaro Lempiäinen, founders of Busy Buttons, said: “It has been a great challenge creating the range using only 100 per cent recycled fabrics to make this repurposed fashion collection. It highlights the importance of creating with a conscious awareness of the effects of climate change on our Earth.
“It has been a great learning experience for the young people on our course and we’re very proud of what they have achieved in such a short space of time.”
