Budding photographers are invited to get 'snap happy' in time for this year's Slough Horticultural Show.

For the second year running organisers are looking for entries in the photography section of the show on Saturday, August 17 in Lascelles Park.

Classes range from landscapes and specimen flowers to wildlife and images from parks through the four seasons.

The under 16 class also has categories for pictures taken on holiday or of a pet.

All entries for the competition must be delivered to the marquee by 9am on the day of the show. To download full entry details and an application form, go to http://www.slough.gov.uk/sloughshow or http://www.sloughhorticulturalshow.com

The horticultural show is brought to the town by Slough Borough Council and Slough Allotment Federation.

As well as photography, there will be competitions for the best home grown produce including vegetables and flowers and best home made items, including cakes, knitted items and clothing. There are also classes for children to enter their home grown produce.

Cllr Natasa Pantelic, the council's cabinet member for health and wellbeing, had suggestion for photographers interested in taking part.

She said: “Why not spend some time over the summer holidays exploring some of Slough’s parks? Try going to one you’ve never been to before and see what sights you can snap.”

In addition, the council wants photographers to share their photos taken in Slough’s parks on the Love Slough’s Parks Facebook Page @lovesloughparks. The best photos will be selected for the Love Slough’s Parks annual calendar.

Only photos of council managed Sloughs parks are eligible, Langley Park and Black Park are not included.
