Community Involvement was the name of the game when the team from WAM Get Involved went looking for volunteers to support the Royal Borough's good causes last week.

It was Volunteer Week and WAM Get Involved specialises in matching people who want to serve their community with good causes and charities most likely to suit them.

The team visited Windsor, Maidenhead and Ascot, setting up stalls. They talked to 192 new contacts outside Waitrose in Windsor Yards, Windsor, 92 at the Nicholson's Centre, Maidenhead and 65 people at the Sainsbury's in Ascot- including a whole variety of local residents, as well as business employees and people who were happy to register their charities with WAM Get Involved to benefit from its support and services.

Liz Barr from WAM Get Involved said: "We're really grateful for all the support and now look forward to connecting many more residents with their local community.

"Finally we'd just like to say Happy Volunteers Week and a huge thank you to all our amazing volunteers out there who make such a difference to the communities of the Royal Borough."
