A FORMER bank is being converted into offices for a neighbouring estate agent.

The RBS building in Lee Lane will be home to Regency Estates which is set to move in later this year.

Director Nick Holt said the company could not turn down the opportunity to move into such an ideal location.

He said: "We have outgrown our current offices and this move represents the business moving forward to hopefully become one the leading estate agents in Bolton.

"We wanted to stay in Horwich and our current location has served us well, the centre of Horwich is currently thriving and we wanted to remain part of it.

"To find suitable premises has been difficult so we are extremely delighted to have found the ideal building in the old RBS."

The town hall has granted the firm planning permission to install two new shop fronts at the site.

The application, which was signed off last week, explained that the alterations would make the property more open and welcoming to customers.

There will be no changes to the entrance at the corner of the property, or to the elevation facing Longworth Road.

Mr Holt said: "We are totally refurbishing from top to bottom and trying to retain as many as the original features as possible. We are taking all the downstairs space and creating office space upstairs which will be rented out separately."

Regency Estates, which has been run by the Holt family since 1992, is planning to move in to the building by September.
